    What Are The Different Types Of WebCasts?  Click Here To Play the Video Duration: 21 Minutes Description:  Any WebCast consists of two pieces.  You have to capture a live event.  This event creates a "raw file" and may consist of multiple types of media. For the most part, I'll refer to an audio WebCast. Raw files are usually huge; an hour of a conversation recorded may exceed 1 Gigabyte.  To broadcast an audio event live you need to compress the audio into a much smaller "encoded" format.  The encoded file is then broadcast over the web (WebCast) using a special media server.
